Opening Ceremony of the Second International Festival of Kurdistan

12/12/2013 the opening ceremony of the Kurdistan Second International Chess Festival under the auspices of Mr. (Nechirvan  Barzani ), President of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the presence of Mr. ( Dilshad Barzani ) A representative of the President of the Kurdistan Region' ( Nawzad Hadi ) the governor of Erbil, ( Salah Hassan ) official Olympic Committee and the Kurdish (Burhan Argushi ) Director of the Ministry of Education .

The champion held in the ( Saad's Palace for Conferences & Meetings ) in Arbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region and with the participation of 70 players (male and female) from 22 countries . The Festival regulated and supervised by of the Central Union of Chess of Kurdistan, Khanzad Chess Club and Capablanka Institute.

The 9-round Swiss open is taking place from 12th to 19th December
