The opening of the Open Championship Chess for Kurdistan's Chess Clubs by Capablanca Institute for Chess and under the supervision of Khanzad chess club that took place in Erbil from 15 to 18/08/2013 and with the participation of 110 players from various clubs in Kurdistan.
This tournament is to prepare for the establishment of the second International Kurdistan Festival of Chess, which will be held in Erbil for the period from 12.12.2013 with the participation of several countries around the world.
