On the occasion of the March, Nowroz Festivals, the Rapid Chess Tournament was inaugurated and lasted two days from 11 to 12 March. The tournament took place in the Swiss system and in seven rounds with the participation of 48 players males & females. Most of the participants were young players who graduated from the Khanzad school. After a strong competition between the players, the tournament ended with the following results:

Grown up players:

1- Mohammed Khalil Majid / 6.5 points first place
2-Nabil Aziz Youkhna / 6.5 points first place (repeated)
3- Najdat Farouq Abdulkarim / 5.5 points third place

Young players

1- Rawa Fakhradeen / 5 points first place
2-Rekar BakhtiarHamasalih / 5 points first place (repeated) 
3-Bahoz Shakhawan / 4 points third place
